The “Volunteering in Humanitarian Aid – Sending Organisations” partners gathered in Athens for their third Consortium Meeting. It was the opportunity for them to assess the successes of the past months and to discuss the future of the project for its second — and last — year.
Amongst the highlighted successes :
- Actionaid Hellas (Greece) successfully submitted their certification request
- Most of the partners are now ready to submit their own certification request
- The placement of the Civic Service Volunteers was very beneficial both for the organisation they have been helping throughout the certification process and the volunteers themselves
The second year of the project will see the end of the certification process for most partners. They will then especially focus on communication and dissemination about the EU Aid Volunteers initiative.
European Solidarity Corps
The “Volunteering in Humanitarian Aid” project also responded to ECHO’s call for participation in its new scheme: the European Solidarity Corps. Together, the partners gathered ideas and thoughts about this new initiative that will allow young European to engage for various causes inside European Union.
