In the framework of the VolinHA project, each partner organisation could get the support of a Civic Service Volunteer. Those volunteers had the chance to visit one another, share the good practices of their respective organisations and exchange on the volunteering landscape in their country. Kate O’Donnell, a former Civic Service Volunteer from Comhlamh, Ireland, took this opportunity to write a report about the EU Aid Volunteers initiative (EUAVI) and the volunteering landscape in four different partner countries: Ireland, Greece, Latvia and Cyprus. She outlines the main opportunities and challenges raised by the EU Aid Volunteers initiative and proposes some recommendations, so that the EUAV can best contribute to the humanitarian effort of the EU.
